Immersive academy experience provides leaders with practical real-world insights and strategies on driving organizational innovation
CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Jan. 7, 2025 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- MIT Sloan Executive Education, today, announces the launch of the "Innovation Executive Academy," an immersive 8-day, in-person program that aims to provide senior leaders (in both the private and public sectors) with the tools to strategically manage innovation, help anticipate disruptive technologies, and inspire their teams to embrace transformation. With its first session taking place April 29-May 8, 2025, the academy is uniquely designed to accommodate the needs of busy professionals and is an efficient way to earn an Executive Certification from MIT Sloan.
Using MIT and Kendall Square as a dynamic learning environment, participants will engage in site visits to explore ecosystem dynamics and hear success stories from MIT's innovation network, first-hand. As technologies rapidly evolve and transform the landscape, participants will learn to develop a forward-looking mindset and an understanding of innovation, emerging technologies, and their potential impact. With advice on both how to encourage innovation inside your organization, and also how to engage other ecosystem stakeholders for external innovation, this academy will help leaders to nurture a culture of innovation and to overcome organizational resistance. This method has been taught globally, and the Academy will include cases from around the world.
Phil Budden, senior lecturer at MIT Sloan School of Management, TIES Group (Technological Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Strategic Management), leads this course in partnership with world class faculty from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
"Driving innovation requires more than keeping up with the latest technology and trends," said Budden. "That is why we've developed this dynamic, in-person course at MIT that will ensure participants can walk away with a holistic framework for managing innovation, from small-scale experimentation to driving transformative change across an organization."
Key takeaways from this course, include:
- A framework for innovation that can be applied across any sector, region, or technology.

- A broader perspective of innovation viewed through 3 lenses: strategic, political, and cultural.
- Strategies to overcome organizational resistance to change, drawing on frameworks that foster a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- A concrete, personalized action plan that has been developed over the eight days.
