Monster Energy's Devin Logan Stomps Her Way to Bronze in Women’s Ski Slopestyle at X Games Norway 2017
(PRWEB) March 10, 2017 -- Monster Energy would like to congratulate Devin Logan on earning a bronze medal in Women’s Ski Slopestyle Finals at X Games Norway 2017. Logan stomped her way to a spot on the podium with a stacked second run which earned an 83.00 from the judges.
Logan was originally the first alternate for the contest, and got the chance to compete in finals moments before the event started, as reigning X Games Gold medalist, Kelly Slidaru, had to pull out due to speed issues. With this fresh chance, Logan knew she had to put it all on the line.
In her second attempt, Logan landed a run that was ultra smooth and oozing with style. She kept things pretty causal on the top section of the course, but dropped hammers on the jumps. Her run consisted of a straight slide on the flat rail, backside 270 out of the down rail, straight slide to switch on the flat down, switch left 540 safety grab, left 720 tail grab, right 540 Japan, and ended with a switch left 720 safety.
Following this run, Logan was visibly excited, but also a bit nervous to hold on to her place on the
podium.
“All these girls out here are awesome, and anyone could put down a run,” said Logan. But after all eight riders had dropped, Logan held on to her third place finish, which was the first final event of the
Norwegian X Games this year.
This marks Logan’s eighth X Games appearance, first bronze medal, and first time she’s been back on the podium since 2012.
After receiving her medal on the podium, Logan told us that she wasn’t affected by the speed on the course like some of her competitors.
“Speed was definitely an issue for some, but I personally didn’t feel that it was a problem for me
because I’m the biggest competitor out there and I hold speed pretty well. That definitely worked to my advantage tonight, so I’ll take it.”
This was a great start to X Games Norway for Logan, who will also be vying for a spot on the podium in Big Air, which she will compete in on Saturday, March 11, 2017.
ESPN and TV2 will each distribute 13.5 hours of live coverage. TV2 will air the competitions live in Norway, while ESPN’s coverage will be distributed live in the U.S. on ESPN3 and as part of its World of X Games series on ABC. In addition to the content on ESPN’s U.S. media platforms, X Games Norway 2017 will be televised globally on ESPN International networks and distributed to other international media outlets and broadcasters via ESPN’s media distribution business.
