MUFG Investor Services Joins Groundbreaking Oxford Study On Career Advancement
Leading financial group partners with University of Oxford and coaching startup CareerPoint for a study on the individual and organizational impact of career advancement coaching
SANTA FE, N.M., Oct. 18, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The COVID-19 pandemic has left companies grappling with how to support employees in a new virtual and hybrid work environment in a meaningful way that will increase retention, productivity, and satisfaction. An impactful new study is tracking the role of career advancement coaching to do just this, and corporations are getting on board. MUFG Investor Services, a provider of asset servicing solutions to clients globally, announced today it is the latest company to sign on to a groundbreaking research partnership between the University of Oxford and remote employee coaching start-up CareerPoint.com.
The nine-month study will be conducted by the University of Oxford's Kellogg College to investigate attitudes towards career advancement among young professional employees and the impact of coaching interventions on performance, engagement, and career advancement. Participating companies will receive a wealth of insights into career advancement obstacles, both real and perceived, among a group that, for many companies, represents the next generation of managers and executives.
"We're delighted to welcome a truly progressive employer like MUFG Investor Services to our Corporate Research Program," said CareerPoint Founder and CEO Steve McIntosh. "Numerous studies have shown that providing career advancement opportunities is key to attracting and engaging the best talent. It's exciting to partner with industry leaders like MUFG Investor Services and a center of academic excellence like Oxford to advance society's understanding in this very important area."
The CareerPoint Corporate Research Program is open to companies in qualifying industry sectors in North America, the UK, and Ireland. Participating companies nominate between 10 and 50 young professional employees who each receive personalized CareerPoint coaching over four weeks.
Professor William Scott-Jackson, Research Director at the Oxford Centre for Employee Engagement, said, "Coaching has long been restricted to those at the top of organizations. This important study will explore the individual and organizational impact of providing this valuable tool for staff at all levels. This has been made possible through the support of far-sighted companies like MUFG Investor Services and the development of a new 'democratized' coaching model developed by CareerPoint."
"We are delighted to be partnering with CareerPoint for this important initiative. We take career development and coaching extremely seriously at MUFG Investor Services, and believe it is more important than ever for people to be provided with the right coaching and advancement opportunities, particularly in this new hybrid world," said Alan Kennedy, Managing Director – Global Head of Client Operations at MUFG Investor Services. "I am confident that this study will shine a light on how impactful coaching can be at all levels of an organization and that our employees who are taking part will find it to be a truly rewarding experience."
