Author takes readers on thrilling journey through the American Wild West
BUFFALO, N.Y., Oct. 3, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- In "The Ratten Expedition," author David A. Hornung shares the story of an alternate reality where the American Civil War lasted ten years, technology has significantly advanced and there are new, untamed creatures to face.
After the civil war has ended, tensions are still high. The potential for another war is the least of the characters' worries as a new terror stares them in the face.
Main character, John Morton is recruited by Peter, his old army comrade who is now a priest, to find his missing parishioners. This does not turn out easy to solve, as he is taken on a journey across the country and faced with a roller coaster of dangerous adventures. Morton and Peter are recruited to join an eclectic undercover government team.
Morton adapts to his position with his new alliance quickly – a priest, an assassin, an inventor and an orphaned girl. The team embarks on a race to rescue the union.
The book follows the adventures of Morton and the team as they attempt to stop a pair of crazed, vengeful renegade scientists who have their minds set on destroying the union.
"I have always had a passion for steampunk adventure," Hornung said. "For many years, I was an active Civil War reenactor, avid model railroader and just love all things history, so the words for this thriller into the Wild West effortlessly flowed from pen to paper."
