Brian George announces the release of 'Down To The Sea. A Cadet's Tale'
NORWICH, England, Aug. 3, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Brian George announces his entry into the publishing scene with the release of "Down To The Sea. A Cadet's Tale" (published by AuthorHouse UK), the story of a British Merchant Navy cadet's first trip to the sea.
This book gives an insight into life of young Brian in the British Merchant Navy during a unique period. From the leafy lanes of Surrey to the grim docklands of 1970s London to the jungles of Panama, on to the Land of the Long White Cloud and back again. The sea. The work. The crew. The friends. The enemies and of course, the women. It is about what it was really like for an 18-year-old first trip cadet.
"Gawge as we have always known him, has been a friend since those nautical college days and I had the good fortune to sail with him some nine years later. He is the eternal sailor, a great shipmate and an officer of the highest caliber embodying all those traits that made sailing so much fun. He's never lost his wit and has amassed a body of experience that has provided him with the material to tell his story as only Gawge can," Captain Steve Pelecanos says about the author.
When asked what he wants readers to take away from the book, George answered, "I hope they will enjoy reading my story and elicit some laughter from it or maybe, learn a lesson or two from the mistakes of a youngster who once went to sea."
