New Rockler Drilling Guide Makes Accurate Installation of Cabinet Knobs and Pulls Quicker and Easier
Rockler Woodworking and Hardware has introduced a new jig for installing cabinet knobs and pulls that uses the hardware itself during setup, ensuring quick, easy and accurate drilling of mounting holes every time.
MEDINA, Minn., Sept. 27, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Rockler Woodworking and Hardware has introduced a new jig for installing cabinet knobs and pulls that uses the hardware itself during setup, ensuring quick, easy and accurate drilling of mounting holes every time.
Unlike many jigs on the market that rely on measurements, the Rockler JIG IT® Knob and Pull Pro Drilling Guide allows the user to mount the actual drawer pull or knob to the jig to set the adjustable drilling guides, so the spacing is guaranteed to be perfect. And instead of simply marking the locations of the holes with a center punch, the Drilling Guide includes a 3/16" split-point drill bit and hardened steel bushings that let the user skip straight to drilling.
"If you need to install pulls on a bank of drawers or doors, this jig is going to make your life a whole lot easier," said Dan Wenning, Rockler's senior director of product development. "Once you set it, you can move from location to location quickly and get repeatable accuracy."
The Drilling Guide has a fence that registers against an edge of the drawer front or door, plus two vertical legs. One of the legs adjusts side to side to fit pulls with posts spaced up to 7-1/2" from center to center, accommodating a large variety of hardware. The vertical legs and the fence both feature interlocking teeth that allow the adjustable rail to move but keep the fence and legs square to each other for proper alignment.
Interlocking teeth also help perfectly align the adjustable drill guide carriages with each other on the vertical legs after the hardware has been attached and the drill guides have been moved up or down to set the mounting distance from the fence. An adjustable indexing foot with a stop collar can be set on either side of the jig for quicker repeat drilling operations.
The Drilling Guide's range of adjustment allows hardware to be mounted anywhere from 1" to 8-1⁄4" from the edge of the drawer front or door in one direction and as much as 6" from the edge in the other direction.
The fence of the Drill Guide includes onboard storage for the included drill bit and hex wrench for adjusting the stop collar.
The Rockler JIG IT® Knob and Pull Pro Drilling Guide (53038) is priced at $49.99 and is available for purchase exclusively online at http://www.rockler.com or at Rockler Woodworking and Hardware stores nationwide, as well as through the Rockler catalog.
