NFL Star Aaron Jones Gifting Diamonds to Military Heroes
Military families can apply to receive a memorial diamond through Jones' foundation
EL PASO, Texas, May 22, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- To honor the lives of our heroes, NFL star Aaron Jones and his A&A All The Way Foundation have partnered with ashes-to-diamond company Eterneva to give memorial diamonds to families who have lost a loved one who served.
Eterneva uses the ashes, hair or other token items of a loved one to create a one-of-a-kind diamond to keep forever. Every year, the A&A All The Way Foundation will gift one of these special diamonds to a military family who has lost a loved one.
In honor of Memorial Day, Jones and his foundation are encouraging families to apply to receive this special gift. Others can also nominate families by filling out the application on their behalf. The application is on the A&A All The Way Foundation website: aaalltheway.org/supporting-children-in-military-families.
"We want to help people celebrate their remarkable loved ones with a diamond that is as remarkable as them," said Jones.
In August, Jones and his A&A All The Way Foundation will select one of the applicants. The family will be announced and recognized at the foundation's gala later in the year.
Jones and his A&A All The Way Foundation announced last year's diamond recipient, the Colley family, in a similar manner. The Colley family decided to have their memorial diamond made of Major Alan Colley's uniform, which they handed to Jones on stage at the foundation's gala. Major Colley served in the military for 20 years before passing from suicide. The memorial diamond gives the family a way to forever remember him and carry him with them wherever they go. The diamond also could be turned into a piece of jewelry in the future, such as a wedding ring for one of the Colley family's two daughters.
Jones grew up in El Paso, TX and both of his parents served in the military. In April of 2021, Alvin Sr. passed from COVID-19 complications at the age of 56. As a way to remember him, the Jones family had an Eterneva memorial diamond made from his ashes. This beautiful emblem brings joy and pays tribute to the man who meant so much to them. The Jones family will cherish the diamond forever.
"I know how hard it is to lose a family member," said Jones. "I am honored to carry my father's memory with me by having a memorial diamond made of his ashes."
