Nike Running Camps Announces Dates For The Outstanding Nike Running Camp Of Champions At Stanford University
The Nike Track & Field Camp of Champions at Stanford University and the Nike Cross Country Camp of Champions at Stanford University announce the dates for the summer of 2020.
SAN RAFAEL, Calif., March 3, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Nike Track & Field Camp of Champions and the Nike Cross Country Camp of Champions will run concurrently June 29-July 3. The camps offer athletes the rare opportunity to experience firsthand the life of a Stanford student-athlete. Each year is a sell-out due to Stanford's reputation, gorgeous setting, top tier training, coaching, and facilities. Runners from all over the world attend to experience the life of a Stanford student-athlete.
Camp Director and Stanford's Franklin P Johnson Director of Track & Field, J.J. Clark, oversees both track and field and cross-country programs. Clark says, "We are so excited to welcome our camp athletes to The Farm this coming summer. It is our first summer on campus and we have a lot of great things in store. This is an exciting time for us, we're anticipating a great experience!"
The athletes train on the famed Cobb Track & Angell Field, home to many national and international competitions. Cross country runners take advantage of the blue skies and gorgeous hilly trails that surround this amazing campus. Campers stay in the campus dorms and eat in the Stanford dining. Track and field athletes can choose from all disciplines: throw (shot put, hammer, discus, javelin) sprints, hurdles, middle distance (including steeplechase), and jumps (high jump, long jump, triple jump, pole vault). XC runners are placed in small compatible groups based speed, fitness, and ability. Each running group is assigned an experienced counselor for specialized training and individual attention. Instruction is given by Stanford coaches and staff. The camp is coed, with overnight and day options, for ages 12-18. All ability levels are welcome and geared toward those with the desire to train smarter, work hard, and have fun.
