MCLEAN, Va., Oct. 23, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC), the membership and trade association for the technology community in Northern Virginia, today announced the winners of the second annual NVTC Capital Cyber Awards. The award announcement concluded the final day of the fifth annual NVTC Capital Cybersecurity Summit which was held virtually this year. These winners represent the most innovative companies and individuals that contribute to the region's cybersecurity industry.
With federal and commercial markets often at an intersection, the National Capital region houses an unmatched technology ecosystem. The NVTC Capital Cyber Award winners demonstrate dedication, vision and a proven track record of substantial contributions to their company and the technology industry in the Greater Washington region.

This year's program attracted over 60 nominations from impressive companies, organizations and individuals working toward industry innovation, throughout the Greater Washington, D.C. area. In the six categories, the 27 finalists included local companies, government agencies and individuals, who represent the region's diverse and thriving technology ecosystem.
The panel of judges included Kelly Ford, General Partner, Edison Partners; Jack Huffard, Co-Founder, Tenable; Tom McDonough, former President and COO of Sourcefire, which was acquired by Cisco; Tony Moraco, retired CEO, SAIC; and Dr. John Zangardi, President, Redhorse Corporation.
