Producer Christopher Fitzpatrick launches campaign to crowdfund distribution of the award-winning documentary, Oklahoma Breakdown. The story of Mike Hosty, a one-man band who plays over 250 shows a year.

The campaign will launch at precisely 11:24 a.m. on May 25th.

This 91-minute documentary film focuses on the life of underground music legend Mike Hosty, who is considered by his peers to be a world-class talent who didn't chase the limelight when he could have been a millionaire. The cover of his song "Oklahoma Breakdown" was the #1 song in the state of Texas for the entire year of 2007.
The film has screened across the United States including the Phoenix Film Festival, deadCenter (Oklahoma City), and Oxford FF. Oklahoma Breakdown earned "Best of Fest" awards in New Haven and Boston and an Audience Choice award at the Lone Star Film Festival in Texas. Most recently, the film screened at the Julien Dubuque International FF in Iowa (nominated for "Best Use of Music") and twice at the San Luis Obispo International FF in California where Mike Hosty was invited to perform after the encore screening.
Fitzpatrick will go live on the Oklahoma Breakdown Facebook and Twitter pages throughout the fundraiser with special guests, musicians, and rare behind-the-scenes footage from Hosty and the movie.

One of the highlights of the 24-hour fundraiser is the pseudo-reunion of the Mike Hosty Trio, which played their first show in 23 years after a sold-out screening in Norman, OK on April 27th. The entire concert will be shown for the first time in its entirety during the live stream.
The campaign is targeted to raise money to afford final rights, legal, and insurance to allow for broader distribution and online streaming.
"These final steps could cost more than the entire budget of the film," Fitzpatrick said. "Mike Hosty has an inspirational story about what success really means, but it might not ever be seen by the general public without this fundraiser."
