DENVER, Dec. 19, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- "Colorado Gives Day" was December 4th and in keeping with that Colorado spirit, EcoMark Solar donated $20,000 and over 3000 cans of food and pet supplies to local charities in Colorado Springs, Fort Collins, and Denver.
"In gratitude for the good people of Colorado allowing us to show them their solar opportunity, we wanted to give back to causes we all believe in," Jake DiRe CEO of EcoMark Solar explained at their annual holiday gathering. EcoMark employees then voted on how to distribute this year's annual donation. In total $20,000 was donated to Max Fund - a no-kill pet shelter, The Home Front Cares - a military family assistance organization, The Children's Hospital, and Energy Outreach Colorado. These four causes were chosen by employees and the checks were delivered to them on Colorado Gives Day this past December 4th.
Annually, EcoMark Solar also facilitates a "Kilowatt Can Drive." The company donates one can of food for each kilowatt of solar power sold or installed during the months of October and November. This year EcoMark also inspired its financing partner Mosaic Bank to match the food donations, making this year's donation the biggest one yet with over 3000 cans of food. "We were able to give twice the amount of food than we originally expected thanks to Mosaic Bank and their generous spirit," DiRe proudly announced. The organizations that received donations included 4 Paws Pet Pantry in Fort Collins, Metro Caring in Denver, and Care and Share Food Bank in Colorado Springs.
