AUSTIN, Texas, March 13, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Last month, Consulting Magazine honored Rachel Makua, a principal consultant at OpenSymmetry, as one of their twenty 2020 Rising Stars of the Profession: Ones to Watch. This list celebrates consultants under the age of 35 who set the bar for excellence in the consulting profession globally, and hundreds of individuals are nominated from firms of all sizes and specialties.
OpenSymmetry CEO Anthony Hutchins said, "It's great to see the public recognition Rachel is receiving for something that our team has known for so long – that Rachel is a star! It is absolutely fantastic that she can receive this award. We want to congratulate and thank her for the remarkable work she has delivered to our clients all over the world and the contribution she makes every day for OpenSymmetry."
Makua, based in South Africa, has been in the OpenSymmetry consulting practice for over seven years. She received the award for excellence in Information Technologies (IT) as an incredibly versatile consultant. Her technical ability across multiple disciplines delivered high quality work on industry-leading Sales Performance Management (SPM) platforms including Varicent, Xactly, and SAP. Even at her young age, she has taken on lead roles on several Xactly projects, as well as a variety of roles including configuration consultant, functional lead, business analyst, test manager, and test architect.
"This award is incredibly well-deserved," says Anne Cantey, Vice President of Professional Services at OpenSymmetry. "For those of us who know Rachel, we are familiar with her expertise and poise that help achieve success for our clients. She does a phenomenal job of elevating everyone around her."
This achievement comes during a period of growth at OpenSymmetry, marked by the opening of a new office in India as well as an increasing workforce. "I couldn't have done this without the support and guidance from my team at OpenSymmetry," said Makua upon receiving the honor. She adds, "It is a joy to work with people who have challenged, inspired, and mentored me over the years, and who have taught me to build on others' strengths, as well as my own."
Rachel will receive her Ones to Watch award the Rising Stars Gala, which will be held on April 16, 2020 at The Blackstone Hotel in Chicago, IL.
