Customers running Oracle databases on AWS can now triple the throughput of a single-instance database, while increasing uptime and handling the heaviest workloads.
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Oct. 18, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Organizations use Oracle databases to run highly demanding applications. They may need to process large volumes of transactions, run end-of-month reports, or other heavy-duty workloads. Occasionally, the required storage throughput can exceed the limits of a single Amazon EC2 instance, causing delays in data processing.
To solve this problem, FlashGrid has created a new product, FlashGrid for Oracle DB on AWS. Building on the success of FlashGrid Cluster for Oracle RAC on AWS, FlashGrid have developed a technology to extend database storage to additional EC2 instances and deliver up to 22,000 MB/s and 1,250,000 IOPS at only 0.036 ms read latency. In effect, tripling what a single EC2 instance can deliver.
Also baked into the product is the tech that powers FlashGrid Cluster for Oracle Failover HA on AWS. This system increases database uptime and allows switch-over to the second DB server for planned maintenance. Also, if there is an unexpected failure of the primary DB server, the automatic failover switches to the second DB server, and by having shared storage between the two, Zero RPO is achieved.
"FlashGrid has already helped many Oracle customers who need high availability on AWS. Now we are also bringing high performance to users of single-instance Oracle databases, removing one of the last barriers in migrating to the cloud.", said Art Danielov, CEO FlashGrid.
Setup is straightforward thanks to the infrastructure-as-code deployment. Users generate a CloudFormation template using FlashGrid Launcher, upload it to their AWS account, and with a few clicks, deploy a virtual infrastructure appliance suited to their specific requirements. It's easy and repeatable.
All solution components have been thoroughly vetted and tested by FlashGrid for performance, reliability, and compatibility. FlashGrid also provide 24/7 technical support with strict SLAs covering analysis, deployment, and maintenance of the entire infrastructure stack.
Because FlashGrid for Oracle DB is a virtual appliance, admins retain full control of their EC2 instances, OS, and database software. FlashGrid has no access to the data so a high level of security is maintained.
FlashGrid for Oracle DB is billed via AWS Marketplace, in all regions, including U.S. Government Cloud and China.
