Pacific Quest Announces the Hiring of Dr. Maile Green, for an Innovative Youth Program on the Big Island of Hawaii
Hilo, HI (PRWEB) July 16, 2013 -- Pacific Quest outdoor therapy program is pleased to announce the hiring of Maile Green, ND, LAc, RN to its innovative wellness team for struggling teens and young adults. Dr. Green’s role with Pacific Quest will allow her to collaborate on a team of mental health and wellness professionals providing life-changing experiences for troubled youth from around the world. Providing the assessment and treatment of a wide range of health and wellness issues is no easy task, and Dr. Green will have an integral role offering top-notch care and services for Pacific Quest students and their families.
As a Naturopathic Doctor, Acupuncturist and Registered Nurse, Maile will work side-by-side with Naturopathic Doctor Britta Zimmer and Psychiatric Doctor Shelly Ham, working full-time to provide comprehensive “whole person” care for youth enrolled at Pacific Quest. Dr. Green comments, “Pacific Quest incorporates an amazing blend of tending to the body, mind and spirit of one’s self, and of the earth. What a gift to the young people of today to offer such a service, and to a planet that needs empowered, healthy people.”
Maile received her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine and Master of Science in Acupuncture from Bastyr University. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Northern Colorado. She is part of the American Holistic Nurses Association, American Holistic Medical Association and the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians.
Prior to joining the Pacific Quest team, Maile was a Naturopathic Doctor and Acupuncturist at Boulder Natural Health. In this private practice setting, Dr. Green provided naturopathic health care and acupuncture treatments for patients of all ages. Frequently used treatment modalities included dietary counseling, nutritional supplements, herbal and homeopathic remedies, biotherapeutic drainage, acupuncture and tuning forks applied to acupuncture points, and auricular medicine.
Dr. Green has also worked as an emergency room Registered Nurse at the University of Colorado Health North, and HospiceCare of Boulder and Broomfield Counties, where her duties included triage, patient assessment and education, monitoring for a wide variety of emergent and non-emergent conditions, and coordinating with community physicians.
