Payscape Announces Doug Hardman as Chief Technology Officer
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) May 28, 2015 -- Payscape, a leading financial technology solutions provider, announced today the appointment of Doug Hardman as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). In this role, Hardman will serve as the leading R&D innovator and visionary for Payscape merchant service solutions and SaaS-based products. He will also oversee a growing team of developers working to safely process billions in credit card transactions annually.
“This industry has changed more in the last 5 years than in the last 20,” said Jeremy Wing, President and Co-Founder of Payscape. “Realizing the ever changing need for sophisticated technology, we have been looking for someone with Doug’s skill set for years. But after winning the 2015 ISO of the Year from the Electronic Transactions Association (ETA) last month, we realized it was more important now more than ever to surpass the standards awarded to us by our peers. Doug was the perfect choice to take us to the next level. He has a proven track record of developing customer-focused technology solutions that align perfectly with our merchants’ needs.”
For the past 11 years, Hardman served as CEO and Founder of SparkBase, one of the largest loyalty marketing providers. His innovative direction grew the company from a gift and loyalty card processor, to a customer acquisition and retention tool provider for businesses worldwide. And finally, under his leadership, SparkBase was named a “Top 100 Workplace in NE Ohio” by the Plain Dealer and won numerous awards, including the ETA’s “Technology Innovation of the Year.” Hardman also serves on several councils and committees for the ETA.
“I’ve been in the payments space for more than a decade, and having worked with more than 100 ISOs in the past, I thought I’d seen it all, but Payscape is a different kind of ISO,” Hardman said. “They understood that nobody is just an ISO anymore. You have to be a technology company these days, and that’s what excited me about this position. I have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the space with technology. That’s exciting.”
Hardman’s first focus for Payscape will be planning the next generation of their transaction processing engine, as well as products like BillingOrchard and RegPoint. “Nobody should just be selling processing anymore. Those days are over. The focus should be on the merchants’ needs and what we can do to make their business run more efficiently. The processing should be the icing on the cake.”
