Keeping Sand Valley Clean and Safe with PENETRON ADMIX
East Setauket, NY (PRWEB) June 12, 2017 -- Completed and installed just in time for the June 19th grand opening of the Sand Valley Golf Resort in Wisconsin, the resort’s wastewater treatment and fire protection systems depend on concrete tanks treated with PENETRON ADMIX.
“The new Sand Valley Golf Resort was designed in the style of the great English courses that have sandy soil, low-lying oaks and pines, and bushes – and dramatic sand dunes,” says Robert Revera, President and CEO of The PENETRON Group and avid golfer. “The windy playing conditions and the strange bounces the ball takes on the sandy soil demand a high level of adaptability from the player!”
PENETRON crystalline technology was used for water containment concrete tanks. PENETRON ADMIX SB, in pre-measured soluble bags that simplify mixing during the concrete batching phase, was added to the fresh batched concrete by PENETRON partner, Crest Precast, in La Crescent, Minnesota.
Crest Precast manufactured and placed seven concrete tanks with a total capacity of 160,000 gallons (605,700 liters). Three tanks for the facility’s wastewater treatment plant each have a capacity of 38,000 gallons (143,900 liters), 10,000 gallons (37,900 liters) and an 18,000 gallons (68,200 liters). The total capacity makes the Sand Valley facility one of the largest on-site wastewater treatment systems in Wisconsin.
The wastewater treatment system features the ECOPOD® advanced wastewater treatment process, a high efficiency system from Delta Environmental for reducing the levels of nitrogen, BOD and TSS (“Biological Oxygen Demand” and “Total Suspended Solids”); all three are wastewater quality indicators for laboratory tests that assess the suitability of wastewater for disposal or re-use.
Crest Precast also furnished two 10,000 gallon (37,900 liters) tanks for storage of water for the facility’s fire protection system.
Situated on over 1,700 acres (690 ha), the Sand Valley Golf Resort in Nekoosa, Wisconsin, is only a short drive from Chicago, Milwaukee, Madison, and Minneapolis. The resort features two 12-room lodges; four cottages, a $6 million, 30,000-square-foot clubhouse and lounge, and 17 guest rooms. A second, adjacent golf course is slated to open later this year.
“PENETRON crystalline technology is a key enabling technology of high efficiency wastewater treatment systems,” says Christopher Chen, Director of The PENETRON Group. “Our local PENETRON team worked with the project’s design engineer to ensure perfect results for the concrete tanks.”
