Pioneer Transportation Selects Unique Electric Solutions (UES) to Repower Diesel Buses to Battery Electric

HOLBROOK, N.Y., Dec. 10, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Seeking to continue in its quest towards cleaner, safer and more efficient transportation of school children, New York City based Pioneer Transportation Corp has chosen Unique Electric Solutions (UES) to repower Five (5) Type C school buses from diesel to battery electric. The buses will operate in New York City for the Department of Education (DOE) of NYC.

Repowering is the process of taking existing, in-service gas or diesel powered vehicles and converting – or retrofitting – them to clean battery electric. This provides all the benefits of a new electric bus including zero tailpipe emissions, quiet operation, and dramatic reduction in operating costs, without having to buy new vehicles. Repowering to electric is a faster, cheaper and easier way to go electric with commercial trucks and buses.

New York City has recently passed legislation requiring all school buses to be electric by 2035.

Battery electric vehicles provide fleet operators a path to meet environmental and sustainability goals, including reduction in greenhouse gases and noise pollution.
