PracticeWise Announces the Latest Additions and Updates to the PracticeWise Evidence-Based Services Database (PWEBS) and Supporting Resources
PWEBS aggregates from near 1,100 randomized clinical trials of treatments for children's mental health problems, making it the most comprehensive dynamic decision-support tool available for reviewing the evidence base. This marks the 27th consecutive update to PWEBS over the past 11 years.
SATELLITE BEACH, Fla., April 1, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- PracticeWise, a behavioral health company that helps those who are in the business of helping others lead better lives, announces the latest additions and updates to the PracticeWise Evidence-Based Services Database (PWEBS) and Supporting Resources.
Adam Bernstein, Ph.D., the PracticeWise Director of Technical Solutions stated, "This update marks another milestone in the long history of development of PWEBS. We made significant additions to the research papers and treatment protocols extensively coded and published into PWEBS. And through our PWEBS+ (Beta), users can search the evidence base using three different frameworks: the familiar PWEBS target areas, categories from the Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) framework, or disorder target areas that represent categories of diagnosis. This means users can search the evidence base and find effective treatments using the same language already used for assessment, making a seamless connection to planning care."
PWEBS provides a searchable database that summarizes the latest science about effective youth psychosocial treatments based on expert review of published research that meet robust, defined quality standards. It provides users with a place to find information on which treatments are effective, common practices and other features of effective treatments with primary sources of the information. PWEBS is useful for identifying promising strategies based on what's worked in research studies, quickly and easily obtaining knowledge from hundreds of studies to find results relevant to individual youths, and the ability to prioritize which practices to use and when.
"We continue to push forward the aggregation, evaluation and distillation of the evidence base in children's mental health. Our team of internal and external experts works hard to ensure that our users have the most comprehensive, up-to-date data set and tools available to guide their decision-making, planning and execution of interventions and treatments for the children and families that they serve." said Bryan J. Stewart, PracticeWise Chief Executive Officer.
