Dr. Chorpita has worked in multiple academic and government leadership positions related to children's mental health and practice improvement. Bruce currently holds the position of Professor of Psychology at UCLA. He received his Ph.D. in psychology from the University at Albany, State University of New York. Dr. Chorpita is widely published in children's mental health services, and has held research and training grants from the National Institute of Mental Health, the Hawaii Departments of Education and Health, the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the Annie E. Casey Foundation, and the William T. Grant Foundation.
