Praeses Participates in the Inaugural Air Force Pitch Day
Government Programs Division Wins Phase I Contract for Connote
SHREVEPORT, La., April 03, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Praeses, a national leader in software and mobile application development services, participated in the Inaugural Air Force Pitch Day on March 6-7, 2019 in New York, NY and won a Phase I contract for its Connote product. Of over four hundred companies that submitted proposals, Praeses was selected to present Connote, a software analysis engine, designed to fast track a software engineer's ability to understand large, complex, and interconnected software systems. This capability serves as a "force multiplier" for software engineers engaged in the time-consuming and risk-prone analysis processes inherent in software modernization efforts.
"We are really excited about Connote and winning an Air Force Phase I contract for the product," said Chris Nolen, Director of the Praeses Government Programs Division. "With much of the world running on old code, legacy systems can be huge, complex, and lack any real documentation. Connote is a completely new approach to tackling legacy software problems." He added, "The DoD spends more than $50 billion a year on maintaining outdated legacy systems and utilizing Connote can make a real difference by cutting out hundreds or even thousands of hours of work on the front end of a modernization project."
Air Force Pitch Day is a Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition initiative modeled after commercial investment pitch competitions that focus on awarding single page, Phase I SBIR contracts to companies based on streamlined evaluation of white papers and in person presentations. The inaugural event showcased a simple and repeatable method to harness commercial technologies to support major program and mission area needs. "We are at the beginning of a big culture shift in the government. We woke up and said we are not the only funder or inventor of new technology anymore … we are a partner with those who do," said Dr. Will Roper, Assistant Secretary of The Air Force for acquisition, technology, and logistics.
"Praeses is honored to have been selected to participate in this inaugural Air Force event and being granted a Phase I contract," said Adam Rosen, President of Praeses. "Our participation exemplifies our commitment to innovation and cost savings for the Air Force. The Phase I contract award for Connote will create value for a wide range of organizations within the Air Force, the broader DoD, Intelligence Community, Federal Civilian agencies, State & Local governments, and private sector companies."
