TAMPA, Fla., Jan. 10, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Creating travel bags to apparel and many innovative products in between, Utah continues to spawn successful entrepreneurs utilizing crowdfunding, and 2018 was a banner year, according to crowdfunding PR agency PRmediaNow.
"Every year we work with more client entrepreneurs in Salt Lake City, Orem, Provo and other Utah cities using crowdfunding to launch their innovative products," said PRmediaNow Principal Colin Trethewey. "Utah has become a hotbed for crowdfunding success with many taking advantage of the beautiful and rugged outdoor scenery to promote products that offer intuitive solutions to common problems."
PRmediaNow's 2018 Utah-based clients included:
- Nomatic, raised nearly $1.8 million with two campaigns for its popular travel bags
- Plexus Wheel, the world's simplest device offering at-home backpain relief, raised $1.5 million
- Coalatree, raised $337,000 for its sustainably-made camper hooded jacket
- Peejamas, a reusable, hybrid pajamas/diaper product to aid in potty training raised $352,000
- Ravean, a leader in heated-apparel, raised $128,500 for its new heated gloves
"In 2017, Utah was ranked No. 1 in innovation and entrepreneurship by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and from our vantagepoint it looks like that continues to be the case based on our activity in 2018 with crowdfunding entrepreneurs throughout the state," Trethewey said.
In total, PRmediaNow helped crowdfunding clients raise more than $14 million in 2018 – $4 million in additional crowdfunding revenue compared to its 2017 numbers.
"These trends indicate that entrepreneurs in Utah and elsewhere continue to turn to crowdfunding as a viable product launch option, especially early-stage companies, to attract funding to take their products from idea to commercialization," he said.
PRmediaNow, which provides non-crowdfunding public relations services as well, is a leader in crowdfunding PR, working with nearly 60 crowdfunding clients in 2018. Its top-funded clients in 2018 included the BauBax 2.0 Travel Jacket ($4.3 million), Plexus Wheel ($1.5 million) and Nomatic Laptop and Messenger Bags ($1.1 million).
