R.E.A.C.H. Awarded a $200,000 Fee for Service Grant in Miami-Dade County
MIAMI (PRWEB) August 08, 2019 -- Real Estate Education and Community Housing Inc (aka R.E.A.C.H.) – was founded in 2006 with a mission to inspire and motivate our Community to take the steps necessary to R.E.A.C.H. for and achieve the American dream of homeownership, equal justice and healthy families.
In Miami -Dade the Department of Public and Community Development (PHCD) administers federal and state funded programs. PHCD is the primary County Department responsible for developing affordable housing and overseeing the Building Better Communities General Obligation Bond proceeds, the Documentary Stamp Surtax (SURTAX) and the State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) Funds for Affordable Housing development.
R.E.A.C.H. was one of two agencies selected for this funding. The funding will provide education and instruction on homebuying with assistance throughout the Miami-Dade clients home ownership experience. This promotes affordable housing in Miami-Dade County.
R.E.A.C.H. has been providing First Time Homebuyer Education and Counseling services to community members in South Florida for over 13 years. As a HUD approved counseling agency, R.E.A.C.H. has assisted hundreds of families in their efforts to obtain long term and sustainable affordable housing. “The impact of our partnership with PHCD and this grant award is important for R.E.A.C.H. in providing First Time Homebuyer Education and Counseling services for area families”-Michael Roberts, Executive Director, Real Estate Education and Community Housing.
