Rancho BioSciences Announces Manually Curated GEO Data Sets Are Now Available
San Diego, California (PRWEB) November 11, 2014 -- Rancho BioSciences, the scientific data consulting company, announced today that they have manually curated GEO public data sets for several customers across multiple therapeutic areas. Rancho BioSciences manually curates and harmonizes public and internal data sources for their Pharma, Government and Academic clients, providing more value and knowledge out of the data that becomes more easily accessible. Rancho also supports collaborations with multiple partners and provides data curation services for the shared proprietary data sets and supplements this information with public data sets from GEO, CCLE, TCGA and others. The business model is a onetime fee to cover the cost of the curation, which is very cost effective.
“We are regularly asked to clean up, organize and unify all kinds of public data sets with our customers' internal data and GEO is very popular," said Julie Bryant, CEO. “We have autoimmune data sets from GEO as well as neurological diseases and cancers. By using ontologies and controlled dictionaries, it makes it much easier for the end user to find everything they are looking for which, results in a more comprehensive analysis product.”
“Once we have manually curated these data sets, we prepare them to be loaded into internal platforms, leveraging RDF or triples, as well as providing loading and hosting services for tranSMART. Many of our customers also want the data loading into Omicsoft for further analysis,” said Dr Tatiana Khasanova, Director of Services. “We have other public data sets listed on our website, such as TCGA, CCLE, ADNI and more”.
