Ravinia Capital Hires Alan Kravets to Provide Real Estate Investment Banking Advisory Services
Alan Kravets brings to Ravinia Capital more than 35 years of experience working with complex and challenging real estate disposition deals. He will play a pivotal role in helping the investment banking company's clients achieve success.
CHICAGO, Jan. 25, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Ravinia Capital, LLC, a boutique investment bank, announced today that well-known real estate disposition workout and restructuring veteran, Alan Kravets, has joined the company as Managing Director, effective immediately.
Alan will be an important asset to Ravinia, as he provides real estate investment banking advisory services and solutions. He can draw upon his wide-ranging experience with developing real estate disposition strategies for healthy owners with non-core or surplus assets, advising on distressed real estate asset restructuring and workouts, and conventional or auction sales in situations for lenders, debtors, trustees, receivers and their professionals.

In his new position at Ravinia Capital, Mr. Kravets will be involved with the sale of healthy and distressed companies, out-of-court restructurings and Chapter 7 (Liquidations), 9 (Municipalities), 11, 11V (Debtors in Possession) and 12 (Family Farms) bankruptcy solutions.
Mr. Kravets received his BBA from Michigan Ross Business School and his JD at the University of Michigan Law School. He was an attorney in private practice, a founding partner of a 35-person law firm with a national practice, concentration and expertise in real estate law, banking, turnarounds, workouts, restructuring and bankruptcy. His 20-year legal career included the workout of over $1 billion of distressed loans across the country for numerous financial institutions.
As a former partner and president of Sheldon Good & Company, a national real estate auction firm, Mr. Kravets was the principal architect that developed strategic auction sale solutions involving 60 different real estate asset classes including the sale of 60 condominium units throughout Puerto Rico; a bio diesel plant in Alabama; a golf course in New Hampshire; a gold mine in Arizona; the $19 million sellout for Donald Trump and his lenders of the remaining units of Trump Plaza of the Palm Beaches; 44 properties for BP Oil throughout Ohio; 46 properties for Amoco in three states; a $30 million, 25-property portfolio across Canada; the $19 million sale of a 400 acre equestrian estate in Barrington Hills, Illinois; a $60 million auction sale of 350 houses throughout New Jersey for a Chapter 7 Trustee; and numerous other Chapter 11, Section 363 and UCC sales. He also co-founded Hilco Real Estate Auctions, now part of Hilco Global.
Alan frequently lectures on real estate brokerage and auction matters for Continuing Legal Education and various legal, realtor and auction associations and firms. He has been called upon as an Expert Witness for all aspects of real estate. Alan was selected for membership in the Economic Club of Chicago and Lambda Alpha International, a global land economics society, and serves on the Advisory Board for the Center for Real Estate Law at the University of Illinois at Chicago John Marshall School of Law.
Complementing his professional affiliations, Alan has helped raise millions of dollars organizing and conducting charity auctions around the globe.
Alan is a licensed Illinois attorney and is licensed as a Real Estate Broker or Salesperson in multiple states. He is a member of the Turnaround Management Association and the Chicago Bar Association.
