KANSAS CITY, Kan., July 19, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Giving back to the community where you live and work is essential, according to Allison Rank. That's why Rank joined Leadership 2000 – an organization dedicated to bettering life in Wyandotte County. Each year, Leadership 2000 recruits a handful of emerging local leaders to meet, learn from each other, and collaboratively organize a community service project.
"Leadership 2000 taught me that no matter your position or influence level, we all have the ability to effect positive change for others, especially in our own community. By joining forces with other community leaders, I cultivated strong relationships with peers and contributed to a project that serves the youth, which as we all know, is the future." said Rank.
This year's Leadership 2000 Class of 33, organized and implemented a dodgeball tournament for the Police Athletic League of Kansas City (PALS). The event raised over $5,000 for the PALS program, which offers local youth the opportunity to interact with police officers in a positive setting via academic, cultural, and sporting programs.
"The money we raised through the event will fund a new spigot to water a community garden that PALS operates with the kids in the program," noted Rank. "It's great to know that our efforts assisted something that will have a lasting impact on Wyandotte County. Not only will the kids learn how to grow and harvest their own food, but the food that is grown gets donated back to the community."
A Kansas City native, Rank described feeling driven to serve and represent her community from a young age. She ran her first campaign for Class President in 4th grade with a campaign slogan of "Just Do It - Vote For Rank," capitalizing off of Nike and the Micahel Jordan days. She continued serving her peers as Student Council President in high school and Student Senate President in college. She is currently the youngest member to be included as a part of her college, Rockhurst University, Leadership Council.
Rank is finishing her 10th year has a real estate agent, currently working for Reece Nichols Real Estate Company, where she specializes in advocating for buyers and sellers in an increasingly competitive real estate market. A recent client, Johnathan A., describes Allison as the "Best in Kansas City! Allison is very knowledgeable, both about the local market of sellers/buyers, as well as market value and quality of the home itself. Incredibly helpful with selling, treated me like family and called frequently to keep things in motion. I never even met Allison in person because I had already relocated to another city. I couldn't have asked for a better experience."
