Resility Health Launches Android App to Combat Stress
Resility Health expands intelligent stress management programs with new Android app
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Aug. 21, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Resility Health is on a mission to reduce the negative effects of stress, and they are now adding an Android app to their existing lineup of innovative, data-driven stress management tools. This and their iOS mobile app can be used with Resility's wearable muscle tension sensor to help people recognize when they begin to get tense before it escalates.
Stress is an epidemic in today's world, with 75% of Americans experiencing physical symptoms from it. Resility was founded in 2016 after Sarah Davidson, the CEO, suffered from chronic pain for years, not realizing it was because of stress. "People have these health problems, and they try a lot of things that don't help because they haven't addressed the root cause," said Davidson. "People try mindfulness and just give up because it's so difficult and they can't tell if it's working. We wanted to make it easy for people to figure out what works for them."
The Android app will allow Resility to expand and reach new audiences. Resility launched its stress management program for employers and organizations earlier this year. Exercises are personalized each individual using predictive analytics based and optimized based on their response to the exercises. Each participant receives a personal stress management plan.
"So many people are living in a constant state of stress and they're not even aware of how it's affecting their bodies. It's become the new normal," said Davidson. "It takes a huge toll on our health and relationships. Using Reslility gives us a break from the stress and allows our bodies to recover."
Resility's mobile apps gives users easy exercises that let them try out techniques like breathing exercises, visualization, and mindfulness to discover what is most effective for them. A short 5-10 minute exercise can make a difference in a person's physical stress response, which can be measured using Resility's wearable biofeedback sensor. The sensor is also used to alert people when their muscles begin to tense.
Resility Health is currently participating in the TechDiversity program, a collaboration between the Nielsen Foundation and the Tampa Bay Wave for emerging technology companies led by people of diverse backgrounds. In August, they'll be pitching at the program's exclusive Demo Day event and also traveling to Nashville to the 2018 Health:Further conference, where they are finalists in the pitch competition.
