CHATTANOOGA, Tenn., June 14, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Retro TV is excited to announce that their original series, Dracula's Kung Fu Theatre has been renewed for a third season.
Dracula's Kung Fu Theatre, described as "Elvira" meets "Enter the Dragon," first aired on August 13, 2021, and stars Dracula along with his group of Transylvanian misfits from his castle studio, as he shares his immortal collection of VHS Kung Fu films. The series, produced by Get After It Media, is the first original show for Retro TV and was quickly embraced by fans across the United States.
One fan the series was excited to learn about was Vince Gilligan ("Breaking Bad," "Better Call Saul"), who shared his love for the show during a recent interview on the Scriptnotes podcast, hosted by John August and Craig Mazin. Gilligan shared his admiration for the show, exclaiming "And I love this show so damn much I can't even tell you…it is so fun, and it is so charming, and it is so witty…"
"The feedback we've gotten from fans of the show is a testament to not only the love of kung fu films but overall fun," says Retro TV president Joel Wertman. "We are thrilled that the audience has embraced the show the way they have. On top of that, knowing that we have a fan in an amazing creator like Vince Gilligan furthers the drive to keep putting time and effort into this series."
Season 3 will see films from the Wu Tang Collection including Dragon's Claws, Mantis Fists and Tiger Claws of Shaolin, along with Dragon vs. Needles of Death, Chinese Hercules, and Drunken Master, one of Jackie Chan's first leading roles, to name a few. Dracula's Kung Fu Theatre is written by Matt Forgey and Brad Cotter, and is executive produced by Wertman.
Dracula's Kung Fu Theatre is currently airing reruns of Seasons 1 and 2 on Retro TV on Fridays at 10pm ET/PT and on The Action Channel Saturdays at 6pm ET/PT. Those who do not get either network in their area can watch the show via Retro TV's live stream on the It's Real Good TV app or website Fridays at 10pm ET, or select episodes to watch on-demand.
