US Sports Camps and Select Nike Running Camps Offer Programs for Middle School Runners
San Rafael, CA (PRWEB) May 04, 2015 -- Unlike some camps, the Nike Middle School Running Camps are focused first and foremost on imparting knowledge. The goal is to educate first and train second, with a significant amount of time spent in the classroom. This ensures that the young runners are building the knowledge base needed to have a long and successful running careers. A few of the topics covered include Effort Based Training, Running Heroes, Running Vocabulary, and Why am I not as fast as I used to be? This is not a camp where kids come to run and train hard every day. The overarching philosophy is Effort Based Training, meaning they train at paces and levels of effort consistent with their current fitness level. To that end, campers are assigned a running group that takes into account their current training level, miles per week, how many weeks in training this summer, average weekly mileage and to a lesser extent personal best times.

The mission of the camp is to educate and entertain the campers to become smarter runners.
During camp sessions, campers live the life of a student-athlete while staying in the dorms and training at the school’s facilities. All of the Nike Running Camps offer the perfect opportunity for campers to focus on their specific event and learn from the knowledgeable and passionate staff.
