Salvatore Sarate’s Book Has Graced California in November 2012
Rutherfordton, N.C. (PRWEB) August 28, 2013 -- Salvatore Sarate’s A Bronx Story “From Hate To Hope” was featured at the California Library Association Book Exhibit in San Jose, California. This book takes readers to the bowels of the Bronx, revealing how one neighborhood molded a young man’s principles.
Home to the New York Yankees, the Bronx was once a refuge for those immigrants in pursuit of the American dream. However, during the late 1960s, this district of diverse populations became a national symbol of urban deterioration—families became dissolved under waves of arson, crime, and substandard housing. A Bronx Story “From Hate To Hope” is a compelling and tense work of fiction that follows the life of a man, from his childhood to his married life, set against the backdrop of Bronx.
With a poignant start, the book introduces the protagonist’s parents as immigrants from Mexico after the Great Depression era. Born in Bronx, the young man narrates his experiences and challenges as a physically abused child, a drop out at school, a notorious gangster and later an incarcerated individual. Everything was almost lost for him until he meets the love of his life, Celia. Readers will find out if she will be able to save him from the bottomless pit he has thrown himself in as A Bronx Story “From Hate To Hope” comes to a startling close.
