Twenty Five Ventures 25V Diversity Fund, a venture capital fund investing up to $10 million in early-stage real estate, property and fintech startups led by diverse founders, today announced that Sara Sutachan has joined the advisory board. Sutachan is a co-founder of WomanUP®, an initiative dedicated to closing the gender gap in real estate leadership. She is also the senior vice president at a prominent real estate trade organization overseeing research and economics; industry and broker relations; fair housing; and diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
SAN MATEO, Calif. , Aug. 2, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- "I've seen firsthand how being inclusive and seeking out diverse voices creates better outcomes in real estate and in other industries," said Sutachan. "It's important to invest in people, especially those from marginalized and underrepresented groups. Their perspectives shape a narrative that's long been dominated by less diverse demographics."
25V Diversity Fund was created to help Black, Latinx, Asian, LGBTQ, women, and people from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds build successful technology companies and accelerate growth in their respective industries.
"25V is a fund created by real estate veterans who've decided they're done sitting on the sidelines," said 25V Managing Partner, Alexandra Tieu. "We believe that by taking a more active role in investing, we'll be able to help shape the technologies of the future—in proptech, fintech, and real estate."
The fund seeks to create a more equitable playing field for minority founders and executives. As such, it was important to its leaders to select an advisor who reflects that mission. "Sara has a track record of building wildly successful initiatives that have influenced the narrative in the real estate industry," said Tieu. "She has a unique, data-driven point of view on what the future of real estate should look like, and that's exactly what 25V is looking for in our advisors."
"She's a natural fit for this role. We're excited to have her voice and expertise to help our fund accomplish its mission," added Tieu.
