Recognizes Live Oak Bank and Equitable for Supporting Financial Literacy Programs
WASHINGTON, Sep. 21, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The SCORE Foundation, the philanthropic arm of SCORE, the nation's largest network of volunteer, expert business mentors, today announced that Live Oak Bank and Equitable will support a series of small business educational webinars through their new sponsorships. The Foundation collaborates with organizations across diverse industries to provide funding for SCORE's business education programs that help small business founders gain necessary skills to increase their success.
"Through the generosity of Live Oak Bank, a new Foundation sponsor and Equitable, a returning sponsor, we are thrilled to announce new, upcoming educational webinars specifically addressing financial literacy topics," said Liz Sara, president of the SCORE Foundation. "Since access to capital is so critical during each stage of a small business journey - from launch to growth and expansion - these programs will help to equip founders with what they should know to land the right type of funding at the optimal time."
SCORE produces live, national webinars each week on a myriad of business operations topics featuring hands-on advice and best practice approaches on everything from accounting to video marketing. In the last fiscal year, more than 241,000 small business founders and entrepreneurs participated in these national programs. All webinars are recorded and posted online at SCORE.org for viewing anytime.
"Supporting Main Street businesses constitutes a significant part of our bank's focus and provides a perfect fit with the mission of the SCORE Foundation," said James Capolongo, Head of Deposits at Live Oak Bank. "We are excited to play a role in supporting small businesses in every community by helping to inform them about the various paths to capital," he continued.
"Small business owners also face unique challenges with recruiting and retaining top talent, as well as with succession planning," said Keith Naimot, Chief Operating Officer for Equitable's Group Retirement business. "We are thrilled to support the work SCORE is doing nationally to mitigate those challenges and help small businesses thrive."
