PORTLAND, Ore., Feb. 11, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Slabtown Village guests can expect the grandeur of a traditional hotel stay while still having a truly alternative, Portland experience. The hotel, which is a mixture of newly constructed tiny homes and recently restored Victorian houses, is located just a few blocks from Portland's iconic Pearl District and urban Northwest 23rd Avenue.
After four years of watching nearby historic buildings get replaced with new high-density projects, property owners Grant Norling and John Jendritza resisted the pressure to do the same. Instead of tearing down their beautiful Victorian homes built in 1875, they went a different route. Seeking to embrace growth while preserving the neighborhood's rich history, they renovated the three existing homes and built three new tiny ones around them, curating a collection of tiny houses, new and old. Each tiny home is named after a local Northwest Portland icon including Portland Trail Blazers legend Bill Walton and former Portland mayor Vera Katz.
Whether travelers are looking for an out-of-town getaway or a Portland staycation, the hotel's six tiny homes are stylish, affordable and environmentally responsible. Each unit is beautifully designed with high-quality furnishings and luxurious amenities including full bathrooms and kitchenettes, high-speed WiFi, flat screen televisions with complimentary Netflix, air conditioning and more.
Slabtown Village is offering visitors a winter rate on bookings now through the end of April.
