Spreading Joy; Not Germs - Award-winning Balloon Artist Spreads Cheer and Hope in Frederick County

FREDERICK, Md., April 27, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- When a global pandemic left the world in an uncertain state, Caity turned to the best cure she knows - balloons. When she saw a social media post from neighboring Flying Dog Brewery about a "Hero Happy Hour," she knew it would be a fantastic opportunity to literally show thanks to the frontline providers of Frederick County.

With over a decade of experience in large-scale balloon installations, putting together a display to encompass the many community heroes was an obvious choice.

"I worked in the Frederick Memorial Hospital's Emergency Department for several years. The frontline heroes of this community are not faceless. I have literally shared blood, sweat, and tears with many of these amazing people. Putting up a balloon display to share my immense gratitude for what they do was a no-brainer," says Byrne.

Byrne runs a balloon décor business based in Frederick, MD, and with her sole remaining staff member will build a display honoring healthcare professionals, Fire/EMS, and police. Caity has been a Certified Balloon Artist since 2013, and has decorated at the White House twice. She has also taught at numerous industry conventions.

The "Hero Happy Hour" is a joint effort between 1st Amendment Society, Flying Dog Brewery, McCutcheon's Apple Products, Premium Distributors of Maryland, and Roasthouse Pub. The event will take place on Tuesday, April 28, from 7am-2pm and 4pm-8pm across from the hospital. The Frederick Balloon Co. display will remain in place all day.
