HIGHLAND BEACH, Fla., Oct. 2, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Springboard Consulting, LLC® is proud to announce an official assembly of Chief Diversity Officers for Disability Inclusion (C4DI)™. The C4DI was established to create a blueprint to foster an accessible safe environment for individuals with disabilities; whether visible or not, ensuring individuals with disabilities feel welcomed, are treated fairly, equitably, and are comfortable disclosing their disabilities with or without a need for an accommodation.
As diversity leaders, these signatories will serve as role-models ensuring candidates, employees, customers with disabilities, as well as those caring for dependents with disabilities, are fully and appropriately included in the workforce, workplace and marketplace. They will do this by:
- Creating and maintaining a culture of trust where employees feel comfortable to disclose their disability and request accommodations.
- Implementing and expanding disability-related education.
- Helping other companies start, grow, and/or enhance their current disability inclusion strategies.
For companies, the actions of the C4DI involves commitment, conversation, and collaboration all of which means a more inclusive, productive business. For employees and customers with disabilities, it means the world.
A few words from our signatories:
"As D&I leaders in some of the most far-reaching organizations in the world, we have both the social and business responsibility to ensure that the vast community of people with disabilities is considered in all facets of society. That said, if Colgate is to successfully realize our objective of being a most inclusive company, we must more fully utilize the unique skills sets possessed by individuals with disabilities by welcoming them into our workforce. This will be a critical factor to maintaining our competitive advantage in the ever changing marketplace."
Eugene Kelly
Vice President, Global Diversity & Inclusion
The Colgate-Palmolive Company
"At Froedtert Health, individuals with unique abilities are the ideal employees. They are dependable, engaged and productive segment of our workforce fostering an inclusive workplace that ultimately drives an exceptional patient experience."
Andres E. Gonzalez
Vice President, Chief Diversity Officer
Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin
"At Intel, having a diverse and inclusive company is vital to our business. Every day we focus on creating an inclusive workplace where all employees bring their unique perspectives, backgrounds and experiences to work. It is this culture of openness and inclusion that amplifies Intel's ability to innovate and solve the world's toughest challenges."
Barbara H. Whye
Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer and VP of Human Resources
Intel Corporation
"I believe in the vision of mainstreaming disability in the global workforce, workplace and marketplace. We are so far away from this vision today. Disability in the workplace is often an afterthought. As an industry, we are unprepared to delight customers with special needs. We are losing out on a talented, dedicated source of talent by marginalizing people with disabilities. Intuit's intention is to advance our dialog - and action - to fully include employees and customers with special needs and abilities."
Scott Beth
Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer
Intuit
"As a world-renowned health care provider and insurer, we at UPMC recognize that disability is represented in all other dimensions of human difference. We are proud to serve as a C4DI signatory given the direct link between health care outcomes, workforce productivity, and community engagement to issues of cultural diversity. And personally, my engagement with C4DI is truly an honor and privilege to help celebrate the countless contributions of pioneers who acknowledge, support, and embrace the disability experience for so many. The era of transforming health care has brought many uncertainties to our industry, but we are sure of one thing: UPMC will continue to enhance our corporate culture through a commonly shared commitment to disability inclusion."
James E. Taylor, Ph.D.
Chief Diversity, Inclusion, and Learning Officer
UPMC
"At VF, inclusion is at the foundation of who we are as a company and is an essential part of our culture and purpose. We strive to foster a work environment where our differences are not only valued, but also appreciated. I am proud to represent VF and join my peer Chief Diversity Officers in supporting this important initiative to advance the engagement and inclusion of people with disabilities in the workforce."
Reginald J. Miller
Senior Director, Global Inclusion and Diversity
