WASHINGTON, Dec. 15, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Center for Disaster Philanthropy (CDP) is among eight organizations receiving matching donations from Subaru as part of the 14th Annual CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute.
The automaker, a longtime sponsor and supporter of CNN Heroes, announced the dollar-for-dollar match of up to $62,500 for each featured organization during Sunday night's live telecast.
"We are grateful to Subaru for generously supporting CDP's efforts to help communities rebuild and recover from disasters," said Patricia McIlreavy, president and CEO of CDP. "Subaru's matching gift is extending the impact of every donated dollar."
Many communities affected by disasters such as wildfires, hurricanes, COVID-19 and humanitarian emergencies face a long road to recovery. Donations typically decline in the months after a disaster strikes.
Contributions to CDP will provide vital resources to U.S. and international organizations serving people and communities who are disproportionately affected by disasters so they can fully recover and withstand future crises.
To make donations eligible for Subaru's match, donors must give through CDP's GoFundMe page by January 2, 2021, 11:59 p.m. ET.
