SwimKids Swimming School Raises $6,000 in Funds for Hope Floats
Virginia swim schools hosted their annual Swim for Hope event, raising funds to provide scholarships for swim lessons that prevent drownings.
DALLAS, July 25, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Each year SwimKids Swim School runs a Swim for Hope event. This event encourages our Stealth Swim Team swimmers to swim as many laps in the pool as they can during their 45 min practice time. Swimmers request donations from sponsors either per lap or a flat donation regardless of the number of laps completed.
The SwimKids Swim for Hope Event supports the organization Hope Floats. Hope Floats is a charity working to save the lives of children by giving scholarship assistance to underprivileged children who might not otherwise be able to afford swim lessons. Drowning is the leading cause of death for children under age five and the second leading cause of death for children under age fourteen. 100% of the money raised during the Swim for Hope Event is given back in scholarships to support local families in Gainesville, Woodbridge, Leesburg, and Fredericksburg, VA.
We are proud to announce that we have raised $6000 for the Hope Floats Foundation! Thank you to all of our swimmers, staff, friends and families who supported this year's Swim for Hope Event and supported this meaningful fundraising mission. "Our staff and swimmers look forward to our Swim for Hope event each year. We love being able to provide even more opportunities for children in our community to learn to swim. An event like this helps our Stealth team swimmers learn how to support their community and feel empowered to be able to give back!" says Krissy Bartlett, Director of Operations.
SwimKids was founded on two simple beliefs: every child deserves to learn the joy of swimming and develop a lifelong love of the water. Our mission is to bring happiness to children in every swim lesson. We are proud to offer the highest standards for safety and instruction. Whether your child is six months, six years old or sixteen, it is never too early, or too late, to begin their swimming journey with SwimKids!
