In the Mass Market Midsize/Large Car segment, Tachi-S received First Place recognition for the Honda Clarity seating with only 1.7 problems per 100 vehicles and Second Place honors for the Nissan Maxima with only 3.1 problems per 100 vehicles.
Tachi-S was also awarded First Place in the Mass Market Compact SUV/MPV segment for the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport.

The J.D. Power 2018 Seat Quality and Satisfaction Study is based on 75,000 purchasers and lessees of new 2018 model-year cars and light trucks registered in November 2017 through February 2018. The study took place from February through March 2018.
