Teacher Created Materials Hires New Chief Marketing Officer

Alex Rivas Smith joins the TCM team in the newly created Chief Marketing Officer role.

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif., May 10, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Teacher Created Materials (TCM) is excited to announce that Alexandra (Alex) Rivas Smith has joined the organization as Chief Marketing Officer. The CMO role is a new one at TCM. Alex has a deep background in educational sales and marketing, having started her career as an elementary school teacher. After leaving the classroom, Alex worked in a variety of roles with well-known publishers in K-secondary education.

Most recently Alex spent twelve years with William H. Sadlier, Inc., as the Senior Vice President of Marketing. During her time at Sadlier, Alex re-imagined their website as well as built out a sophisticated digital marketing team of early adopters of cutting-edge marketing technology.

In addition to her tenures at many publishers, Alex is committed to education beyond the office walls. She has volunteered with many organizations focused around supporting learning opportunities for children, including the Girl Scouts, Care Plus NJ mental health organization, Cristo Rey Corporate Work Study Program and is currently a Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children in Foster Care.

Alex can trace her strong belief in education to her own roots as a child of Cuban exiles. She knew education was a way to expand her horizons and tries to provide that opportunity to other children.
