AUSTIN, Texas, July 8, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Texas drivers can now pre-order the new look Lone Star Carbon Fiber specialty license plate from MyPlates.com. This new design was recently approved by the TxDMV Board during their June meeting.
My Plates, the state's official specialty license plate vendor, is now encouraging Texans who like this new look design to pre-order theirs today. My Plates is required to achieve 200 pre-orders before this plate can be officially released and move to final production and manufacture.
In November 2017, My Plates released their first Carbon Fiber pattern plate design. Since that time, that plate has been a top 5 seller with more than 6,800 plates sold.
The President of My Plates, Steve Farrar, is very confident that they'll achieve the required 200 pre-orders in pretty fast fashion. "Not only is the Carbon Fiber pattern a very popular choice, but the addition of the large Lone Star makes it even more appealing and drives home that Texas pride".
This new plate design adds to the 120+ designs My Plates offers Texas drivers, adding yet one more fun choice to the decision-making process for customers.
For those who are wondering whether the plate is made from actual Carbon Fiber graphite materials, we're advised that it is not. Instead, a computer-generated digital image of the Carbon Fiber pattern along with the final plate message is transferred onto a roll of adhesive-backed reflective vinyl sheeting that's affixed to a like-size strip of aluminum. The aluminum is then sliced into the plate-size rectangles that are shipped out to local county tax offices for collection.
Texans wishing to purchase this new Lone Star Carbon Fiber design may do so by visiting http://www.MyPlates.com. All plates start from only $50 a year or as low as $35 a year when purchased for a five-year term. You do not have to wait until you receive your registration renewal notice; you can order at any time.
Since November 2009, Texans have purchased more than 450,000 My Plates, putting more than $80M in the general revenue fund, which helps pay for services for all Texans.
