Massachusetts' premier family tennis, health, and athletic club offers baseball, pickleball, tennis, gymnastics and more for members of all ages
SHREWBURY, Mass., Oct.31, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Shrewsbury Club, Massachusetts' premier full-service tennis, health, and athletic club, has undergone a major renovation to the entire 90,000-square-foot facility. Returning members will see several new facilities, as well as new tennis and racquetball courts, pickleball courts, and expanded fitness and gymnastics centers.
Emerging from the pandemic as a one-stop-shop with kids sports, adult health and wellness, and programs and coaching at all levels, The Shrewsbury Club offers something for everyone of all ages and a truly exciting destination for both indoor and outdoor activities. At the state-of-the-art tennis courts, members can take advantage of tennis clinics for youth and adults to improve their game, private instruction, and a tennis summer camp. Martial arts programming, led by a highly skilled black belt sensei, includes both group and private instruction and a summer camp for younger members.
Members of the club are also taking full advantage of the pickleball craze with indoor pickleball courts, learn-to-play classes for beginners, as well as teams and leagues. Fitness programs form the foundation of a true community with fitness programs for all levels with group classes and personal trainers dedicated to helping members achieve their fitness goals. The club offers training and coaching for children from two years old through college as well as adults, along with childcare, exciting summer camps, and programs designed to cater to young people as well as the needs of working parents.
The Shrewsbury Club is also a leader in baseball development with skilled professionals leading the way, with many young players going on to play high school and college ball. The junior baseball club works with the Mizuno Northeast Baseball league, giving players the best possible opportunity to excel at the sport.
"We're very excited to see people once again becoming comfortable with public fitness venues, and as old members come back and new ones join, we have more programs than ever, a fully renovated and refurbished facility, and some of the best coaches, instructors, and sensei available," said Nate Sorensen, founder of The Shrewsbury Club. "We now have the best summer camp programs we've had in the club's history, a first-class fitness center, and so much more. We're more than just a sports club, we're a real community for our members."
While many sports clubs suffered during the extended pandemic, The Shrewsbury Club emerged stronger than ever, and Sorensen took full advantage of the downtime to undertake a full-scale upgrade of the facility, as well as searching nationwide for the best baseball coaches in the country. "I did national searches and hired baseball professionals from around the country," said Sorensen. "I relocated them here, to give our players the most development and best coaching I could get." The full-scale renovation was highly strategic, said Sorensen. "The renovations brought in significant improvements, not just in terms of safety, but in terms of improvements to the façade, the building itself, and the addition of new facilities."
Sports clubs throughout the country saw the emergence of a new normal during the pandemic, and The Shrewsbury Club has led the way in personal safety and enhanced sanitation, with many of the protocols becoming permanent. "We have become as touchless as possible," said Sorensen. "We're doing everything possible to make sure our members feel safe. We have emerged stronger and safer, with more programming and services for our local community, and we truly appreciate the support we received from the local community throughout the Covid pandemic."
With baseball being one of the club's most popular sports, Sorensen has seen enormous growth in the club's baseball programs. "Our baseball program, our coaches, and our facility are all second to none in all of New England," said Sorensen. "Our coaches all have very strong playing and coaching backgrounds, and our Team Mizuno Northeast development program has a solid commitment to developing players at all levels into strong, competitive athletes."
The Shrewsbury Club's re-invention and re-emergence today offers more development programs, leagues, lessons, and social opportunities for members of all ages – and reflects a renewed enthusiasm on the part of a public eager to once again take advantage of everything the club has to offer.
