Orlando Magic Rising Star, Philanthropist and Christian, #12 Tobias Harris Launches Official Website
(PRWEB) August 26, 2013 -- Tobias Harris, Orlando Magic Small Forward and Philanthropist, officially launched his website, http://www.TobiasHarris12.com. Best known for being the rising star for the Orlando Magic, Harris put his name on the map while playing college basketball at the University of Tennessee under Coach Bruce Pearl.
The 19th selection in the 2011 NBA Draft has always been a player that impressed coaches as he joined the varsity basketball team as an 8th grader while attending Half Hollow Hills High School West. Tobias played at Half Hollow Hills High School West until transferring to Long Island Lutheran Middle and High School in Brookville, NY for his junior year. While at Long Island Lutheran, he led the “Crusaders” to a New York State Class “A” state championship. He transferred back to Half Hollow Hills High School West in Dix Hills, NY for his senior year where he was eventually named the 2010 Mr. New York Basketball and a 2010 McDonald’s All-American.
The McDonald’s All-American packed up his bags and headed to Knoxville to play with Bruce Pearl at the University of Tennessee. As a freshman, Harris was a Freshman All-America second-team selection and one of the nation’s most consistent and versatile performers. Harris also was named second-team All-SEC by the league’s head coaches and earned a spot on the SEC All-Freshman Team.
After a standout first year at the University of Tennessee, Harris announced that he would enter the 2011 NBA Draft. Tobias caught the eye of the Charlotte Bobcats as he was selected 19th overall. Tobias was immediately traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in a trade involving the Bucks, Bobcats, and the Sacramento Kings.
On February 21, 2013, Harris was traded in a blockbuster deal to the Orlando Magic along with Doron Lamb and Beno Udrih with Milwaukee receiving J.J. Redick, Gustavo Ayón and Ish Smith. Tobias Harris made the most of this opportunity as he suited up in an Orlando Magic uniform and flourished right way. Harris more than tripled his points per game output, as well quadrupling his rebounds, assists and block per game.
Harris went on to average more than 17 points and nine rebounds during the next 20 games. This incredible improvement has all of the media chattering about him becoming the center piece of the Orlando Magic as the team looks to rebuild.
Many of these extraordinary memories and achievements can be relived on his new official website, http://www.TobiasHarris12.com. His new interactive site also allows fans to watch video highlights, view memorable photos of his career as well as the ability for companies to book Tobias for corporate appearances, autograph signings, VIP Meet & Greets and product endorsement deals.
