On February 18, 2020, the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) filed for bankruptcy in Wilmington, Delaware. As part of the bankruptcy proceedings, the court ordered the BSA to establish a victim's fund, to compensate BSA members who suffered sexual abuse as children.
The court has set November 16, 2020 as the deadline by which all lawsuits must be filed. This 'bar date' forever bars an individuals ability to make a future claim. As such, it is imperative that action is taken now. Victims who do not act in this window will forfeit any future claim agains the BSA.
