PHOENIX, Sept. 3, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- All About Food LLC, a soul food restaurant located inside the Travis L. Williams American Legion Post 65, is excited to announce that it has been selected as an official business partner of the recently launched Feed Phoenix Initiative. The initiative, created by the City of Phoenix and Local First Arizona Foundation with funding from The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, aims to bring high-quality meals to vulnerable populations across the Valley.
"We are honored to have been selected as one of the participating restaurants for this amazing program," says Michelle Daniels, executive chef at All About Food LLC. "Being located in south Phoenix, my team and I are very familiar with the need that the community has for nutritious, delicious meals. We're excited to bring our diverse menu to different neighborhoods in the Valley."
The restaurant completed its first round of servicing under the new initiative on August 19 and 20. With produce sourced from Abby Lee Farms All About Food prepared, cooked and packaged a total of 300 meals. Selected for the Feed Phoenix Project, members of Arizona's homeless population seeking refuge in the COVID-19 camps received the home-cooked dishes.
Daniels has 25 years of culinary experience, having graduated from Le Cordon Bleu with an associate degree in culinary arts. A majority of her background, which also includes a bachelor of arts from Grand Canyon University, comes from specializing in production, hospitality and kitchen management for major healthcare facilities including HonorHealth Scottsdale Campus, Banner Del E Webb Medical Center and Banner University Medical Center Phoenix. Daniels is also a two-time past president and current member of the Unit 65 Auxiliary.
All About Food LLC's philosophy is to introduce food in a positive light by providing south Phoenix's community of veterans and veteran families with cuisine from all around the world. Daniels and her team crafted a menu that includes soul food classics like southern fried catfish, Mediterranean starters like hummus and veggies, and signature dishes like the A.A.F. burger and the T.L.W. chopped salad.
The restaurant has catered events for upwards of 400 guests including the Arizona launch of CyberVetsUSA, Post 65's annual Martin Luther King Jr. celebration, APS' veteran recruitment programs and more.
The American Legion Post 65, including All About Food LLC, will officially be reopening on Friday, September 11. The restaurant will be open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The Post's bar will be available for patrons Tuesday through Thursday from 4 to 10 p.m., and Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The community can also order dishes for delivery via the ChowNow platform in conjunction with the DoorDash app.
