Trident University International Adds Educational Support at Fort Irwin
CYPRESS, Calif. (PRWEB) July 25, 2018 -- Trident University International (Trident) has announced the hiring of Megan Stewart as the new University Outreach Education Specialist at the Fort Irwin National Training Center in California.
This arrangement is part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed in September 2016, and applies to Fort Irwin military service members, Department of Defense civilian employees, military retirees, and their immediate families who are Trident students.
Stewart will coordinate supplemental instruction and educational resources offered on post. Resources available to students include regularly scheduled writing labs, available to anyone on post, and supplemental instruction for students in the Master of Science in Leadership program. This is in addition to Trident’s standard classroom instruction, which is available online.
“Given our over 22,000 military alumni and active involvement in such military-focused community events as Snowball Express and Operation Gratitude, Trident’s support of military students and their families at the Fort Irwin National Training Center is a natural fit for the University,” stated Esmeralda Silva, Trident, Vice President Strategic Initiatives & Government Relations/Compliance.
Stewart is a military spouse who prides herself in being an active part of the Fort Irwin community. After spending 16 years in a career in ophthalmology, she turned to volunteer work during her time on post. Stewart joined the Trident team to help service members, spouses, and members of the Fort Irwin community gain access to the best education possible while serving their country. She is currently finishing her Bachelor’s in Healthcare Administration at the University of Central Florida.
The Fort Irwin National Training Center is a major training base for the military, located in northern San Bernardino County, CA. This facility prepares brigade combat teams (BCTs) and other units for action while serving the needs of soldiers, civilians, and family members.
