NEW YORK, Jan. 19, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Triple2 Digital, a full-service digital agency specializing in building and deploying software, hardware, and managed services, today announced the launch of the Black Belt Digital Network, a mobile application developed in partnership with Tuskegee University that serves as a network of notifications, research, and blogs. Available on iOS and Android, the app is designed to promote health, well-being, and economic growth across the Black Belt region of the South.
The concept for the app is the brainchild of Lonnie Hannon, Associate Professor in the Tuskegee Department of Psychology/Sociology and Community Engagement Director, and was developed with funding from a university grant.
"The development and launch of the BBDN app showcases T2D's ability to leverage emerging technologies to develop high-quality mobile applications with rich data at a fraction of the cost - ideal for academic institutions like Tuskegee and small businesses operating with limited budgets," said Anthony DiPrizio, CEO of Triple2 Digital. "We are grateful to have had the opportunity to partner with Tuskegee and Professor Hannon to create a one-stop, digital knowledge resource for the Black Belt region."
In addition to providing a wealth of high-quality news and information, BBDN also supports economic development. Users can access BBDN to find local parks for physical activity, farmer's markets to purchase fresh food and produce, or healthcare facilities for care and testing.
The app is highly scalable and optimized for users who tend to access online content via mobile devices. While T2D is maintaining the platform and will continue to develop and introduce new features, Tuskegee has full back end control and the ability to dynamically or manually initiate content updates.
"The Black Belt Digital Network is a community engagement tool designed to deliver trusted, evidence-based information to citizens across the Black Belt," said Professor Hannon. "In a short period of time, T2D succeeded in building BBDN within our budget parameters but without sacrificing the integrity, functionality, scalability, and aesthetic look-and-feel one would expect from a modern mobile app. With T2D's continued support, I see BBDN becoming a valuable resource, empowering residents with the knowledge needed to achieve optimal health and economic wellbeing"
