The grapes are planted at high elevations, on steep volcanic hillsides, facing extreme winds. Due to its isolation as individual volcanic islands, the vine-killing phylloxera never arrived. Therefore, many of the vines have been growing and adapting for hundreds of years, enhancing the flavor of the wine, and reflecting the history of the land.
The "Canary Islands' challenging terrain dictates a painstakingly wine-making process that begins with vines grown from large divots in the volcanic rock terrain. Harvesting is a slow, manual process that ensures gentle handling of the grapes and a truly artisan-made wine.
