United States Chamber Appoints Maxine Turner to Education, Employment and Training Committee
Cuisine Unlimited Catering and Special Events founder, Maxine Turner, has been appointed to the Education, Employment and Training Committee of the United States Chamber of Commerce.
SALT LAKE CITY, Oct. 9, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Education, Employment and Training Committee analyzes and recommends policy on education and workforce development issues. Specifically, the committee is responsible for the development of policies concerning early childhood education, Pre-K-12 education, postsecondary education, career and technical education, the public workforce development system, incumbent worker training, and lifelong learning. The Committee guides the Chamber's efforts to create sound policies to ensure that its members have access to an educated and skilled workforce.

Turner has served as the national chair on the Chamber's Council on Small Business for the last two and a half years and on the U.S. Chamber of Commerce board for over two years. Additionally, she has been active in the Salt Lake City Chamber and has been recognized with numerous awards and accolades including among the 2018 Women Business Owners, 2014 International Business Women of the Year (OWIT – Utah) and the U.S. Chamber Top Seven National Small Businesses for 2014, the Salt Lake City Chamber Giant Small Business of the Year as well as the National Caterers Association Caterer of the Year.
Turner is the founder of the U.S. Welcome Pavilion and has been active in Park City Chamber Bureau, Sandy Chamber Advisory Council, Salt Lake City Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Salt Lake Community College Culinary Board, Salt Lake Community College Foundation Board and the board of Junior Achievement. She is a strong advocate and voice for America's entrepreneurs and small businesses, working with leaders in the nation's capital to enact meaningful regulatory reform.
Turner also has more than three decades of experience in the food service industry. She donates her time to a multitude of civic and charitable events and selects several organizations each year to offer her support. She served on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the International Caterers Association for eight years and was the first woman to be invited to the ICA Foundation board. She is a member and served on the board of Economic Development Corporation of Utah, Culinary Board at Salt Lake Community College and teaches at the Park City Culinary Institute. Turner has also served on the national board of directors of Key for Women Advisory Board for Key Bank.
