NEW YORK, Oct. 15, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The University of Medicine and Health Sciences (UMHS), a small, mission-driven medical school with a commitment to student support and a legacy of successful residency placements in the United States and Canada, today announced that it has signed an articulation agreement with Trent University, creating a pathway for the Canadian university's undergraduates to earn their medical degree from UMHS. Under this agreement, students from Trent University will be fast-tracked for admission to UMHS after meeting established standards set forth in the articulation agreement. "Getting into a medical school close to home is becoming increasingly competitive for Canadian students, even as demand for qualified physicians is growing," said Dr. Holger Hintelmann, Dean of Arts and Science at Trent University. "We're proud to partner with an international medical school that will offer our students a clearer path to realizing their dreams. Like Trent, UMHS takes a personalized approach to education and has recorded an impressive 100% pass rate on the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE Part I) for the last four years - setting up our students for a successful future in medicine."
Dedicated to training the next generation of world-class physicians, UMHS provides a personalized medical education for each student. With small class sizes and an 8:1 student to faculty ratio, students have access to UMHS's state-of-the-art facilities and unparalleled support.
"We're pleased to partner with Trent University, a school with a like-minded approach to higher education," said Warren Ross, president of UMHS.
