MIAMI, April 2, 2020 VueScan 9.7.26 now supports the Raspberry Pi models 2, 3 and 4 with both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. Raspberry Pi users can get VueScan going to http://www.hamrick.com and clicking the red button – and will be scanning a few minutes later.
Ed Hamrick, President of Hamrick Software, says, "We're really excited to offer this. I purchased a Raspberry Pi kit and assembled it and really enjoyed doing this. I'm impressed how the price has remained low since their launch, and we love the educational aims of the organisation and the vast numbers of applications it has been used for. We've had versions of VueScan for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux for Intel processors for many years, and are pleased to also release versions of the Raspberry Pi that works with almost all USB scanners that VueScan supports."
VueScan for the Raspberry Pi is built on Ubuntu 18.04, and also runs well on other operating systems on the Raspberry Pi such as Raspbian and centos.
Hamrick Software, the developer of VueScan - the world's most widely used scanning software – is constantly adding scanners and ensuring that old scanners remain supported, even when the manufacturer stops supporting these scanners.
