WAAM provides grants to organizations using music to directly impact social causes
MONTCLAIR, N.J., Sept. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The We Are All Music Foundation (WAAM) officially announces its 2022 grant recipients. The announcement was made today by WAAM's Managing Director, Mary Crawford.
WAAM invests in organizations that excel at utilizing music as the core of program delivery in education and health and wellness, primarily in vulnerable communities. Founded in 2019, WAAM has established itself as a thought leader in expanding awareness of music's tangible value and profound impact. WAAM's Music Impact Research Center's focus on data analysis and measurement is a central element of its comprehensive evaluation and selection process. A principal objective is to establish long-term partnerships and to collaborate on key initiatives.
WAAM awarded grants ranging between $10,000 and $50,000 to ten outstanding nonprofits; increasing funding to the eight incumbent grantees and adding two organizations that complement this roster (identified below*). These grants fund programs that empower youth through music and mentorship, foster social emotional learning, combat the burgeoning mental health crisis exacerbated by the Covid pandemic, and aim to disrupt the cycle of poverty. WAAM works with the grantees to establish metrics to monitor their specific impact.

Guitars Over Guns empowers youth from disadvantaged backgrounds with a powerful combination of music education and mentorship.
Hip Hop Public Health is committed to creating health equity and fostering positive behavioral health change through the transformative power of hip-hop music.
Education Through Music partners with under resourced schools to incorporate music as a core subject and catalyst to improve academic achievement and self confidence.
Jazz House Kids offers music education, performance training and mentorship to create social equality through jazz–the original American musical genre.
Music Will (formerly Little Kids Rock) is transforming music education through innovative and inclusive music programming and teacher training using rock, pop, Latin, and rap genres.
The Atlanta Music Project provides myriad tuition free youth training and performance opportunities in under-resourced communities to create life changing outcomes.
Musicians On Call brings the healing benefits of music to patients' bedsides in healthcare facilities through live and virtual performances
Music Haven creates a supportive, vibrant music community through tuition free programs, workshops and performance opportunities led by The Haven String Quartet.
*Rock to the Future provides free, student driven music programs to youth in under-resourced schools, vulnerable neighborhoods and juvenile justice centers.
*Concerts in Motion brings personalized live music to the most isolated in our communities including veterans, those suffering from mental illness and the homebound.
